Experienced Mechanical Engineer

Dahms Technik is a growing enthusiastic engineering firm currently providing professional engineering design, drafting, quality assurance, project management, and condition assessment services to a diverse range of mining, resources, and industrial clients. We strive to deliver innovative and practical solutions to engineering problems, backed by our deep technical and operational knowledge of industrial machines.

Our team is growing in 2024 and we are currently looking for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to join us in our Brisbane office, in Spring Hill.

As an Experience Mechanical Engineer with Dahms Technik you will:

  • Contribute to delivering preliminary engineering design, detailed design, specifications and documentation in accordance with the scope of work and required time frames.

  • Use technical problem solving and application of engineering knowledge to provide solutions in accordance with Australian standards.

  • Develop proposals and tenders, including the estimating of design hours and preparation of scopes of work

  • Complete machine condition assessments on a range of sites and industrial machines

  • Provide project management services to assist clients with project delivery, including the management of procurement packages, contractors and developing scope of works and design specifications

  • Enjoy opportunities to work in the field and onsite based construction support roles, including in overseas locations

  • Utilise 3D modelling and drafting skills to produce high quality deliverables and drawings

Our ideal Experienced Mechanical Engineer Candidate will have:

  • A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering with 3-10 years of post-grad experience

  • A background in the industrial bulk materials handling industry or industrial machines

  • RPEQ Status is highly regarded but not essential. Eligibility for and a desire to pursue RPEQ status is essential.

  • A combination of office and site experience

  • Design experience using Belt Analyst, NASTRAN, ANSYS, 3D modelling packages, Microsoft excel etc will be highly regarded

  • Sound understanding of the current codes and Australian standards

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong problem solving and organisation skills, with a strong desire to learn and connect with the team
